Has anybody seen this thread?

http://groups.google.com/group/comp.lang.ruby/browse_thread/thread/f93f6e65a671dad5/ebad313b539e4c3b?lnk=raot

I started having this problem when I upgraded Ubuntu to 9.10:

$ rvm gem install cucumber webrat Selenium
ruby-1.8.6-p383: ruby 1.8.6 (2009-08-04 patchlevel 383) [i686-linux]
ERROR: While executing gem ... (ArgumentError)
invalid date

From the above thread:
"It turns out there is a bug in ruby 1.8.6 for 64 bit architecture.
And
guess what, the problem is with date. You can read more about the bug,
and the solution, here: http://redmine.ruby-lang.org/issues/show/1735.
"

Has anyone else seen this? I have a 32-bit processor, but I'm getting
it too.
