connection to SMSC simulator on remote VPS

Hi Ray,

I am running the Logica SMPP simulator on my VPS, and the gateway on
my local machine. Simulator is accepting connections from the gateway
that if I put it on the same VPS, but not from my local machine, even
though I have changed the config[:host] accordingly. How can I test
that gateway can actually connects to remote SMSC?

Can you be a bit more specific about what is running where? What's the gateway you mentioned here?

Gateway is just like the sample_gateway.rb running on local machine.
Simulator is running at the VPS.

Most you can do is start troubleshooting my friend.
Look at the logs in the simulator and see if it gets a connection in.
Add some debug or puts statements to the gateway and see what it's doing.

That gateway sample is from the previous maintainer I've never used it or looked at it to be completely honest.
