Hi Jeremy and contributors,

I'm new to Roda, coming here from a Rails background. For my projects, I found Rails too constricting and poorly documented, so I am moving my app into Roda. I have a question about serving assets I had previously in my Rails app using Webpack. (I made use of the webpack-rails gem to integrate Webpack into my application.)

Would you suggest the Roda assets plugin as a replacement for Webpack? Or do you have any suggestions on using Webpack with Roda?

Thanks,
D

I don't have any experience using webpack, so other than the fact that they both do asset handling, I'm not sure how they compare.

I can say that the asset plugin handles basic asset packaging fairly well.  As long as tilt supports the the asset source format you use, it should be able to handle asset compilation for you.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Hi Daniel, I'm also moving from Rails to Roda but I've been using webpack for a while already in my Rails app. I've written some articles on how you could set up your application to get the best performance for SPA, which was the main reason I switched from Sprockets to Webpack:

I hope that helps.
