Job Description:

Role: MFT Integration Engineer (MQ, MQ, SFG, Unix)

Location: Onsite role in Hartford, CT and Chicago, IL

Duration: 12 Months

Pay rate: $60/hr on CTC or 1099

Interview Slots: Today 3-4pm EST and Available over Weekends

Start Date: Immediate

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled MFT (Managed File Transfer) Integration Engineer with expertise in IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, Sterling File Gateway (SFG), and Unix/Linux environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure file transfer solutions while ensuring seamless integration across enterprise systems. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, hands-on technical expertise, and experience with middleware messaging solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·       Design, develop, and support Managed File Transfer (MFT) solutions using IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, and Sterling File Gateway (SFG).

·       Implement and optimize message queues and event-driven architectures using IBM MQ and RabbitMQ.

·       Develop secure and efficient file transfer workflows, ensuring compliance with security policies.

·       Maintain and troubleshoot SFG configurations, protocols (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, AS2, etc.), and certificates.

·       Administer and monitor Unix/Linux environments, handling shell scripting for automation.

·       Collaborate with application development, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure smooth integration.

·       Perform root cause analysis and resolve issues related to MFT and messaging systems.

·       Document system designs, workflows, and operational procedures.

·       Work on performance tuning, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR) strategies for MFT solutions.

·       Support compliance with industry standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOX) and implement data encryption and security measures.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

·       5+ years of experience in MFT and messaging integration.

·       Expertise in IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, and Sterling File Gateway (SFG).

·       Strong knowledge of MFT protocols (SFTP, FTPS, AS2, HTTPS).

·       Experience with Unix/Linux administration and shell scripting (Bash, Python, or Perl).

·       Understanding networking concepts, firewall rules, and load balancing in an MFT environment.

·       Hands-on experience with certificate management, PGP encryption, and secure data transfer practices.

·       Familiarity with cloud-based MFT solutions and integration with platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP (preferred).

·       Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.

·       Excellent communication and documentation skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·       Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or other container orchestration tools.

·       Familiarity with Ansible, Terraform, or other automation tools.

·       Knowledge of REST APIs, web services, and microservices integration.

·       Prior experience in the financial, healthcare, or telecom industries handling sensitive data transfers.
