$ apt-cache search ruby2.6
libruby2.6 - Libraries necessary to run Ruby 2.6
ruby2.6 - Interpreter of object-oriented scripting language Ruby

rvm’s latest stable version (1.29.7) also includes Ruby 2.6, in case people want to use that.

indeed, Keith.
or rbenv for that matter.

~$ rbenv versions
  system
* 2.4.5 (set by /home/botp/.rbenv/version)
  2.5.3
  2.6.0
or probly snap too
sudo snap install ruby --classic
