I set through GEM in Ubuntu 12.04 x64. In case of start of command/etc/init.d/pdns monitor there is an error:

[PIPEBackend] Fatal argument error: Command '/usr/sbin/pdns-pipe-runner.rb' cannot be executed: No such file or directory
Jan 22 18:41:57 Caught an exception instantiating a backend, cleaning up

GeoIP a plug-in is set from apt-get.

It gives you a descriptive error, what did you try to debug it?
