Position:  Java Developer

Location: Seattle, WA

Duration: Long term Contract

 

Note: Travel GDS/Travel domain exp is needed (airline will not be acceptable)

Tasks and responsibilities:

Responsible for design and development of in-house travel booking application based on the gathered requirements

Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise with the application in a timely manner

Play instrumental role in development of future travel business applications

Develop and implement enhancements to make the sales floor more efficient

 Efficiently work within the defined development processes and SDLC

Take part in the design discussions and update data models

Make changes to the framework files on a need-basis.

Other duties as assigned

 

Required Skills, Abilities and Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree, or the equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  
•  5 + years of experience with design and development of client/server and/or web based applications
  
•  4 + years of experience with core Java technologies and libraries
  
•  3 + years of experience with Java EE technologies (Servlet & JSP)
  
• 3 + years of experience with JDBC or equivalent data-tier framework, database design & development
  
• 3 + years of experience with SDLC frameworks & IT best practices
  
•  3 + years of experience with relational databases (preferably MS-SQL Server and T-SQL)
  
• 2 + years of experience with SOAP and/or REST based Web services and XML/JSON data transmission
  

 

Recommended Skills and Abilities:

• Experience with model-driven architecture
  
• Experience with any Travel GDS
  
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  
•  Able to easily shift focus with changing priorities
  
•  Must be able to work independently and be forward thinking
  
•  Team oriented and capable of working in a small group
  
•  Must be motivated and a quick learner capable of multi-tasking
  
• Familiarity or experience with the travel industry a plus
