get Barcode to ignore a character that barcode scanner automatically appends

Hi,

I have a problem with a barcode scanner that appends a '/' to whatever identifier i pass in to the barcode. So when it reads the barcode it turns up with a '/' in front of the item that is supposed to link to.

I'm not able to append a '/' to the items themselves in the database (this would be the quickest solution).

Any advice?

Hi Rebecca,

Is the scanner re-configurable ?

I'm pretty sure you can remove the prefix "/" from the output if it is. The scanner we have has configurable prefix and suffix codes.

Otherwise , if you'd need to capture the scan , remove the "/" , then forward the result to the system - easy in Linux, not sure about Windows or other OSs.
