I didn't see any support for cloudfront private distributions and
everything that goes along with them (creating, connecting to private
buckets with origin id's, etc).

Am I missing something or should I start adding that on a fork and ask
for a pull when it's working?

Does anyone know if this code exists elsewhere (I've searched and
couldn't find)?

For connecting ACF to Buckets and generating CF distribution urls for
it's objects - do people think that should live in the acf interface
code or somehow be worked into the S3 code?

Hi,

Please feel free to fork and ask for a pull request when it is ready, we welcome that. I think it should stay in the acf interface as it's part of cloudfront.

Most of this is already done in the acf interface isn't it? You'd just need to add the private stuff?

Yeah - it is mostly in acf-interface.  It's just missing code to connect it to private buckets, generate expiring urls (which for some reason is different then the way expiring urls are dealt with in S3) and deal with private streaming.
