Is it worth it?

Hey guys,
I've been playing with RAD for the past few days and it sort of feels
like RAD is not fully finished. So is it worth me learning RAD or
should I go straight to C?
I love Ruby and would love to use RAD, but I'm not sure if it's full
featured. I need to work with some XBees and and a few other items.
