How to do Digital Read in Real Time?

Hi All,

I'm interested in hooking up my arduino to several other devices and getting a real-time feed of the data from the arduino to store in the computer. Can I use the digital_write method in RAD to get this data in real time?

Also, I was wondering if there is a way to program the arduino to react to user input while it is running its uploaded loop. I know the program has to be precompiled, but how do I account for a more interactive program flow with the arduino?
