Speeding Traffic Tickets Advice and Recommendations

Scenario :

I got a traffic ticket quite recently in Triangle. I was cited for 11 miles over the 35 mph speed limit. This is the first traffic ticket I've received in NC. Can anyone advise what I should do? Do I need to hire an attorney? Recommendations?

--Here are the list of attorneys with reviews and recommendations who handle traffic ticket issues.

--My personal experience is not recent, but you should be able to just show up on your court date, ask to speak to a DA or ADA (or they may ask to speak to you), and with a clean record they'll probably let you plead to 44 [9 mph over doesn't hit your insurance] and get away only paying court costs [which is all they want anyway.

--According to my insurance agency, I should talk to them first before paying the ticket or doing anything. Apparently they have ways of making it less onerous, and supposedly just paying the ticket can result in big penalties.

--I echo someone experience. Get it reduced to 9 over (shouldn't be a problem from 46 -> 44) and pay court costs, no insurance hit.

--I've been through this recently with my teenagers and opted to use a lawyer whose all-inclusive fee is the same (or real close) to the court cost + fine. They've gotten all of the tickets dismissed ("improper equipment" usually) and we don't show up in court at all since they represent us. No insurance points or driving points.

--My experience is dated too, but I would try to get it dismissed if you can, either with an attorney or diy. If you get it reduced to 44, it won't count for insurance point purposes if this is the only ticket you have. However, if you get another ticket within a certain period (2 years IRRC), both tickets will be counted for points.

--The only thing worse than a PJC is paying for a ticket for 11 over. The ticket will cost you fine & court costs, and increased insurance premiums.

The PJC puts you on probation for three years. Get a ticket in that time, and you pay for both tickets, and get all the points for both tickets, and the increased insurance premium for both tickets.

--Traffic lawyers are keen on getting your business. The typical cost is around $200-250 and that includes some type of reduction in offense that leads to zero points.

--Several recommended to get an attorney. they help you work on reducing the ticket offence. $200 - $250 well worth spending.

--As soon as you get a ticket, you should be getting postal mails from quite a few attorneys who are keen on your business, you can negotiate the price based on your ticket.

-My son used the faulty equipment plea through an attorney to avoid a speeding ticket points. He paid close to $300.

Here is some info I found on Prayer for Judgement.
