That's an assertion/exception raised by libmosquitto internally. It could indicate a bug in libmosquitto itself, or it could be some sort of usage error. Any way to reproduce this?

It is not happening all the time - we suspect that it could be because of high loads, since it happens in production is difficult to reproduce, and it is not happening in staging or any other controlled environment
