Hello,

I am using rtl_433 for some time using a physically connected DVB-T
dongle as input device. The data is going via MQTT into openHAB, which
is working well.

Now I recognized the option to use the rtl_tcp input device, but could
not find a description, how the input from rtl_tcp is being generated.
Can I configure rtl_433 on one machine to dump the raw data from a US
dongle into the network and use a different instance of rtl_433 on a
separate machine, that processes the input data from the network? Is
dividing hardware input from the processing load the intended idea? If
yes, how the first instance must be configured?

Thanks a lot for the great tool!

Regards Christoph

rtl_tcp is a program from the rtlsdr software package. Run that and it provides a server. rtl_433 can connect to that server and receive the I/Q data.
