Can anyone provide a link to a basic tutorial for an absolute beginner , on how to use a rasberry pi to log/display their own 433 weather station data please?

I have seen many directs to github, but I lack the understanding to use much of the information.

The wealth of information/scripts etc is great here, but without a starting point, I am like a fish out of water.

Thanks

This looks like good link to try.  It covers lots of details including WeeWx which can log your data and generate a wx web page for viewing.  My weewx rtl433 setup all runs on rpi zero w.  The article also discusses how to add additional sensors.  https://oneeyedman.net/posts/2020052301-weatherstation.html

As above, Weewx is probably the best starting point for a weather station on a RasPi. There's plenty of setup info on the Weewx site too. The only problem I had with the later versions of Weewx is permissions for the rtl & bme260 (temp & humidity) drivers. I put a 'for info' post on the weewx forum but there's probably other posts out there on the subject by now.

Not a tutorial, but realize that what I think you want consists of a
bunch of pieces and you will need to set up all of them, but figuring
them out separately will make it much easier to deal with. Here's sort
of an incremental todo list:

- getting a compiled version of rtl_433
- getting a USB RTL-SDR dongle
- running rtl_433 just displaying what's received, on 433.92 (and 915,
or 868 if EU, or whatever is local, also, just to learn what's out there)
- seeing the weather station, possibly moving the dongle close if you
don't see it at first
- if you don't see it, read the sources to see if it is supported.
(you didn't say what kind of weather station)

- setting up weewx, just using the simulator
- setting up a web server for weewx, either local, or remote and
pushing the pages

- think about if you want rtl433 on the same box, separate, etc.

- choosing a method to pipe data to weewx. one approach is mqtt from
rtl_333 and mqttsubscribe. I think there is an rtlsdr driver that
runs rtl_433 and reads the output.

- make that method work

Hiya...that sounds like a grand idea. Did you follow some sort of tutorial to do this.....really would like to try and duplicate it.I do have a few old android boxes.

At the moment and awaiting the arrival of this stick ex AliExpress, and note you have it plugged into your old box as well.
