I'm a noob when it comes to radio signals and decoding them, however I would like to add my doorbell to the program. Is there an online guide on how to go about this?

If some intrepid soul wants to take a look at what I gathered so far:

It's an Elro DB3000-W doorbell signalling on 433.92 MHz

Here's a screenshot of the signal:

And a recording:

I have no idea on where to start decoding this. If anyone can point me to some resources, I'll try it myself.

Thanks!

Grab a cu8 sample file (see https://triq.org/rtl_433/ANALYZE.html) and run that with `-A` also try https://triq.org/pdv/
The signal for a doorbell should be a very simple fixed pattern.

Christian, thanks for the tips.   In the triq.org doc, there is a step "Build a Flex Decoder":

"Now build a flex decoder to slice the data into bits. Use the suggestion or make a guess based on the analyzed pulse data on the coding."

I'm trying to build a decoder for the *new* Harbor Freight Driveway Alert (PIR) units and am also looking for guidance.

Any pointers on how to build a flex decoder?

Thanks!

Start with https://triq.org/rtl_433/PULSE_FORMATS.html to get an overview how codings work.
Then use the **rtl_433 -X** help text.

Christian, thanks for the pointers.   Thanks to the awesome how-to and tools available, I managed to get a flex decoder working for the Harbor Freight driveway alert.
After digging around more, I found someone else's rtl_433.conf file for the same device, but it was still satisfying to figure it out for myself.

Thanks for all your hard work here helping folks like us get the best out of our RF devices!
