Hi all,

Does anyone know how easy it would be to obtain the 3.0 OS, and install it on real hardware?  The website requires access to the  "iPhone Developer Program" for the beta.

Ben,

Do you have an ADC account? If so, I think you can download the 3.0
Beta SDK, although it may only be 2.2 you can download. If you can't
download it with the SDK, you may be able to download it with the
University account (which I'll talk about briefly tomorrow.) Or, you
may need to buy the $99 annual license.

Then you can download it on the SDK and install it on any device, that
part is straightforward. You can't install 3.0 on the library
machines though, because it requires root access.

So if you have a Mac, an iPhone or iPod Touch, and $99, it's easy.
Also, you may not need the $99 if you can get it for free or through
the University account.

David, since you have the University account setup, can you try and
download the 3.0 SDK and let us know how it works during class tomorrow?

Thanks,
Nate

You need a select or premier account. $100 bucks. After that I assume
it's pretty easy.

Thanks, David.

Yeah, it looks like you need the $99 license to get the 3.0 SDK.

So, everyone can continue using the 2.2.1 SDK, and I can give you a
University license to test it on your actual device. To use the 3.0
code, though, you will need to buy a separate license, sorry.
