A new page has been added to the DBWG group:
Welcome to the RtF - Deaf-Blindness Working Group!
Feel free to post your comments, ideas, and discussion to the mailing
list. Please remember to stay on the topic of accessibility features
for people with deaf-blindness, and to be respectful of other
contributors' viewpoints.
The objective of the Deaf-Blindness Working Group (DBWG) is to
identify the needs and preferred access features of people with both
vision and hearing problems, especially those with both no usable
sight and no hearing. This group will work in conjunction with the
Access Features MasterList group to determine necessary features to
transform web content into a format that is usable without vision and
hearing.
One deliverable from this group will be a list of user needs, required
features, and technologies for people with deaf-blindness. This group
will communicate with software exploration, research, and development
projects to experiment with new technologies and methods. The group's
discussion and research will consider the success and feature
requirements of refreshable braille displays and other existing
technologies, as well as new innovations to bring access to people
with deaf-blindness who may not read braille well, or who may not have
a braille display at the computer they will be using.
