As discussed in earlier posts, Jim Sullivan, Jeff Hoehl and I are
organizing a workshop on web technologies for people with cognitive
disabilities to be held at the University of Colorado at Boulder on
November 4, 2009. The purpose of the workshop is to identify what is
available, what works, and what might be tried to benefit different
individuals with various types of cognitive, language, and learning
disabilities. The scope of discussion may include mobile devices,
features, services, software, standards, policy, etc. The group is not
intended to evaluate other people’s efforts but to identify the best
of what we know, to explore new ideas and to allow a forward looking
free flow of ideas and discussion. A draft agenda for the workshop
appears below and we ask that you please contribute thoughts and ideas
for items you would like to see added.
Whether you are able to join us for the workshop or not, you may also
wish to attend the Coleman Institute Annual Conference on November 5,
2009. You can find information about that meeting at
http://www.colemaninstitute.org/conferences.php. Registration to the
conference is free and can be completed online at
http://www.colemaninstitute.org/Conferences/Coleman2009/registration.php.
We have funds (limited) to assist with expenses. Please let us know if
travel support would help you to attend.
Would you be able to join us and take part in the workshop?
What additional items would you like to see on the draft agenda,
below?
Sincerely,
Clayton Lewis
