FYI, I've just sent this message to the methods committee (and CCed the ICT committee, as I presume their help will be required in updating the methods committee's web page).

While one doesn't normally like to be perceived as a nudgy irritant, I think it might be useful if several of us who care periodically queried or reminded the committee, politely, of the need for transparent progress on this matter. The experience of the past two years would seem to indicate that the committee, being composed of normal mortals, easily loses sight of the need to be making visible progress, and is most likely to remember that need when being scrutinised or subjected to a deadline.

I was pleased to read that motion H passed yesterday, and look forward to seeing rapid progress on the mandated review.

My understanding from Peter is that you are planning on using the CCCBR web site as a communication mechanism with the wider ringing community. I believe a wonderful first start would be updating the committee's web page promptly: it should, of course, be updated in general, but also have something, even if only a few paragraphs, added describing the plan for the rest of 2016 and soliciting opinions from the wider ringing community. I suggest that should be done this week; I can see no reason why such a modest update cannot be accomplished in five days.

Once that is done, I further suggest sending pointers to it, repeating the pleas for folks' opinions, to as many communications media as you can think of, including
- several of the relevant mailing lists (this is one of those rare cases where cross-posting to multiple lists even seems justified)
- one or more Facebook groups
- the RW, if possible
- Bellboard, if possible

If this latter task feels too daunting, I volunteer to do it on your behalf: while I think it would be better coming from one of you, if it makes things easier for you I am certainly willing to pitch in and help get it done promptly. That said, I should warn you that my helping will only be practical if the web page is updated by the end of this coming weekend. Starting the second half of next week I will be away and largely, though not entirely, out of electronic contact with the rest of the world for about ten days or so.
