I have built an Rstep and configured and tested it with 'Realterm' and
the arduino serial monitor. I can configure and save to NV and also do
manual move commands so that is all working.
What I can't get to work is jRstepGUI under winXP. I have installed
RXTX .
When starting Rstep it asks for the com port connection and dosn't
complain about anything else, but just sits there "waiting for
rstep" . I've tried two different XP machines but still the same
probelm.
I'm also useing a hardware rs232 connection ( no USB or FTDI)
What could be wrong?

Also is there any other 'G-code" players that are suitable for driving
Rstep?

Thanks Zap.

Thanks , that looks like a source. Is there a complied program
somewhere? I know nothing about doing that.

Thanks Zap.

Hmm I compiled it myself and it ran fine, it will crash if you have no serial ports for it to list. I can throw a copy up on my fileserver later and send you a link.

I'm very happy that someone has spent the time developing a GUI frontend, but it seems to be the weakest link in the system - I've yet to be able to get it to run properly, and I can't get my head around eclipse.  I've started looking at other options for languages to code a GUI against.  There are some python gui libraries that look nice and use native tookits, but I'm not sure how portable (i.e. easy to install) they would be.  Let me know if anyone has any thoughts?

Hey Alex, I got GcodeSender to work , I had to upgrade .net from 3.1
to 3.5 and now it works fine.

Now for some hardware fine tuning.

Thanks again Zap.
