Dear Hindu Brother’s and Sister’s,

According to reports coming from Christians societies living in India’s North Eastern part, each passing day, more and more people ( means Christians ) are infected by AIDS / HIV. One main reason for this is Christianity promotes, drug abuse, alcoholism and unsafe sex.

In Indian state of Nagaland, where 90% of population are Christians, situation is very very grave. Already 1% of the Nagaland’s population is diagnosed for acute AIDS/HIV.

Government of Nagaland has already started several measures to check this spread of AIDS.

On August 25, 2011 while addressing a one day Advocacy Campaign on HIV and AIDS at Wakching village in Nagaland, Mr. M.C. Konyak, Minister for Forest, Environment, Ecology & Wildlife, Government of Nagaland, called upon the people of Wakching area to stop discrimination against people living with HIV and AIDS.

Minister also said that time has also arrived for couples to go for compulsory HIV blood testing before marriage to protect the future generation from this menace. Stating the example of some Africa’s Christian countries where majority of youth have become victims of HIV and AIDS, he said, time has come for the Church to face the challenge.

We are attaching the photograph showing the minister addressing youth at Wakching village in Nagaland on 25th August, 2011.
