port to Google App Engine

I have been looking for a while for a good method to download new Youtube videos from certain users. This application works very well, I tested it on OS X and it runs without any flaws.

However, I am not very keen on constantly running an application on my desktop; furthermore I would like to access the feeds from other devices on external networks. This is why I thought of trying to port this to Google App Engine, which would make the feed easily accessible on the web

Do you think this is possible? It seems that Google App Engine also supports java:

I will look into this, but I am curious if you have any suggestions / advice.
