Thanks Everyone!
It is amazing and an honor to be listed in this special droid builders edition of Make Magazine!
I know the people in the other articles and they are the top of the top around the world so is definitely an honor to be amongst these people I admire!

My article is on pages 24-25 and will appear in the regular print edition coming up soon :)
Check it out!

Also! I am a background actor in the new Mandalorian and Grogu movie coming up May 21st. I am on the latest trailer. It will be a fun movie with lots of practical effects! I had the most amazing experiences working on this movie. The set was amazing! I am one of the guys wearing the hats in a gloomy new world. See photo and watch the trailer. Can’t wait to see it!

Very cool, Walter. So that’s one of your cinematic achievements you can finally tell us about!

And now we get a much better visual guide to your garage shop than a brief visit could achieve.

Very cool on the profile and movie role!  I am forgetting - have any of your droids made it on the screen?  I seem to recall that.  If so, funny how you started as non-canon in your builds, but with the new movies, that has expanded a lot.

Would a car battery booster be a good choice for use inside your mobile robot?

Maybe, but why would you need all that amperage? I mean a rechargeable battery bank might be a better fit. What I like is that they come with a charging circuit and are ready to use with USB outlets. Some even have 5, 9, and 12 volt outputs. And many are rated at 10, 20 and even 50 amp hours. Most have indicators that show how much power they have left. Many can be just plugged into the wall to charge.

The car boosters are generally more expensive, bulky and as far as I can see, are not rated as high in amp hours for your money.

Hi Jim, I wouldn’t make it mobile at this stage, it comes with many risks and liabilities. Even though the technology is clearly here to support the use case.

Best regards

It depends entirely on the robot.  I made a robo-car from an electric kid’s ride-on car like in the link below, and a car battery was a good fit.   Those booser also seem to come with USB 5 volt outlets so you could use the 12 volt high current side for some larger 12V motor and the 4V USB for the computers.     It could work for a larger robot.

These make REALLY GOOD robots. and cost only $140.  A booster would make this into a sports car.
