Hi Guys,

A heads up. I'm hosting the West Coast National Competition for the Rube Goldberg Machine Contest. The entries are expected to be stellar!

The competition event will be held at the historic Edison theater. If you ever wanted to see inside, the time is now. The venue is expensive, but worth it for an historic event in an historic venue.

In the fall for the 2027 competition, I am going to work on building a team of individuals to bring it to schools in an after school program, and to develop more regional competitions. Because of the timing, I have suggested that the LA Makerfaire can be one of those competition locations.

There is also the opportunity to do what is called a Rube-A-Thon at other events. That is a jump start to a competition entry and does, in fact, end in a competition. The OC Makerfaire could also be a location, but it will require some help with networking it with your sponsors. We are a 501c3 and can make sponsorship applications.

There are several teams from San Bernardino county (their district is highly supportive), Orange County (includes a high school team) and South Korea. 2 teams from Long Beach.

After the competition on May 3rd, there is a stakeholders meeting. The rumor is that Jennifer George, Rube Goldberg's grand daughter will be there. For sure, Zach Umperovitch, the National Contest Director, will be there.

Here are the registration links for VIP tickets. Competition viewing. Includes stakeholders meeting directly after the competition. There are only 20 tickets due to space constraints. The tickets pay for the space rental.

The admission is free and open to the public (we intend that it will be) but space may constrain it.

Stakeholders meeting only. Special pricing for Maker faire organizers. I am visualizing that I can bring the contest to more people through the event.

If there is a sponsor that wants their brand on a mug, we can do this.
Bechtel is sponsoring, Raising Cane's also.

I could also use help making bunnies.

Bunny.

Mug.

I was thinking of having a May the Fourth event as our visiting teams may already be here, but i think that will have to be another day. I'm not ready for it.
