The problem with almost EVERY online training program is the huge disconnect between what you learn and what the interviewer will ask on a job interview.


Typical job interview questions are:

  1. Here's a class implementation and wrapper code to exercise the class. Describe what it does, point out any errors, and describe how you'd fix them or write it differently.
  2. Write a function to perform some task like reordering a linked list, finding repeated substrings in a longer string, creating a histogram from numerical data, etc.
  3. Given a description of a virtual environment with constraints, write a class for a vehicle and a class for a vehicle controller that together will allow the vehicle to navigate the world in a specified way.
  4. Why might you want to invert a Jacobian matrix? Show us some examples.


    But what you learned from the online class is this:


    1) How to follow instructions and use a screwdriver to assemble parts and
    2) How to click “install” and then run demo apps.

    What they are looking for is the person who can create those parts from thin air or write those demo apps, again from thin air.
