Good morning!

I had an experience yesterday that made me realize that the future is closer than we realize.

I've been seeing some suggestions about a future where one-off disposable software that has been written for your specific purpose, used and than disposed of just as quickly.

I believe the tipping point is when the path of least resistance is working with an AI to solve a problem takes less time than solving it yourself.

I was working on an alfie problem yesterday and needed to resize a sample image.  I can never remember which program to install or what command line options to use.  I could do a google search and do the thing but...

Instead I asked claude code to write a one-off python script to resize the image to 320x240, maintaining the aspect ratio so cropping anything outside of that size.

It took less than a minute.

You can do this in any AI infused IDE, including VSCode with the free Copilot plan.

The future is closer than you think.
