Prob_AI Hub Launch Event
9th April 10:00-16:30
Wellcome Collection, London
https://gateway.newton.ac.uk/event/tgm140
This one-day event will introduce the Prob_AI Hub highlighting opportunities for both companies and early career researchers to engage with its activities at an early stage. Talks will cover the importance of and potential for probabilistic approaches to AI, describe research projects being undertaken across the Hub’s main research challenge areas and their connection to some motivating applications.
Speakers: Zoubin Ghahramani (Google DeepMind), Matthew Thorpe (University of Warwick), Hannah Christensen (University of Oxford), Saifuddin Syed (University of Oxford), Anna Scaife (University of Manchester), Silvia Chiappa (Google DeepMind), Aretha Teckentrup (University of Edinburgh), Lisa Kreusser (University of Bath) and James Hensman (Microsoft Research).
There is the option to attend in-person or virtually, though in-person places are limited. See https://gateway.newton.ac.uk/event/tgm140 for more details and to register an interest in attending.
The Prob_AI Hub (www.probai.uk) is a new world-leading research hub led by Lancaster University, and involving the Universities of Bristol, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Manchester and Warwick, that aims to transform the way we develop and use artificial intelligence (AI) tools. The Hub aims to bring together leading researchers from mathematics, statistics and computational AI to develop the mathematical foundations of probabilistic AI.
