This conference will provide excellent opportunities for scientists, researchers, industrial engineers, and university students to present their research achievements and to develop new collaborations and partnerships with experts in the fields. Submissions in the form of extended abstracts, short papers, and full manuscripts are welcome. The submission deadline is January 24, 2020. Early-bird registration ends March 5, 2020. Due to numerous requests,  the submission deadline for the 8th International Conference on Statistics: Theory and Applications (ICSTA 2026) has been extended to June 10, 2026.

Unlike large mainstream statistics conferences such as RSS and JSM, ICSTA publishes formal conference proceedings, which (unlike those of IWSM) consistently carry an ISBN. In contrast to leading machine learning conferences such as NeurIPS and ICML, where the review process has become highly competitive and often more selective than that of many journals, ICSTA employs a more light-touch review process, comparable to that of IWSM. This makes it well suited for presenting work in progress and provides an excellent platform for PhD students and early-career researchers to showcase their work.

ICSTA was first held in Lisbon in 2019 and has been organised annually since. For further details, see https://icsta.net/
