We are writing to make you aware of an upcoming opportunity to
influence the development of radiology reporting technical
standards. The RSNA Reporting Committee has proposed that the
Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise initiative (IHE;
http://www.ihe.net/Participation/index.cfm) develop an integration
profile for the exchange of radiology report templates. The draft
proposal, containing 3 brief use cases, can be found on the IHE wiki
site (http://wiki.ihe.net/index.php?
title=Management_of_Radiology_Report_Templates_-_Detailed_Proposal).

Here is what you can do to influence the future of radiology
reporting:

1. Join IHE. (It’s free!) IHE membership will give you and your
organization an opportunity to influence the development and
deployment of the standards that customers will be requesting.
Several Reporting Forum companies already are IHE members.

2. Participate in upcoming IHE teleconferences. A teleconference to
discuss and refine the above proposal for the exchange of reporting
templates will be held at 11am eastern time on Friday, October 22nd.
A second IHE teleconference, during which IHE stakeholders can vote on
whether to pursue the proposal this year, will be held at 11am eastern
time on Wednesday, October 27th.

If you need help joining the IHE or attending the teleconferences,
please contact Chris Carr (cc...@rsna.org). We thank you for your
continued interest and participation in the RSNA reporting
initiative. The clinical experts of the RSNA template development
subcommittees have been hard at work throughout the year, and have
created another large batch of report templates for release in
conjunction with the RSNA annual meeting this year. We look forward
to seeing you there.
