Yesterday’s upper air cyclonic circulation over Eastcentral & adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal persisted over the same region and extended between 1.5 & 7.6 km above mean sea level at 0300 UTC of today, the 29th May 2026.
A fresh upper air cyclonic circulation formed over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and the adjoining Tamil Nadu coast at 0000 UTC and persisted over the same region at 0300 UTC of today, the 29th May 2026. It extended between 3.1 & 5.8 km above mean sea level.
Scattered to broken low and medium clouds with embedded intense to very intense convection lay over the east Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea, Gulf of Martaban, and Tenasserim coast. Scattered low and medium clouds with embedded isolated moderate to intense convection lay over the west Bay of Bengal.

Scattered low and medium clouds with embedded intense to very intense convection lay over south Arabian Sea and Lakshadweep Islands area. Scattered low and medium clouds with embedded moderate to intense convection lay over the Maldives and the Comorin area.

Yesterday’s upper air cyclonic circulation over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Tamil Nadu merged with the trough over Eastcentral Bay of Bengal to Lakhsadweep area across westcentral & southeast Bay of Bengal, and Comorin area and lay at 5.8 km above mean sea level at 0300 UTC of today, the 30th May 2026.
Scattered to broken low and medium clouds with embedded intense to very intense convection lay over the central and south Bay of Bengal, Arakan Coast, Andaman Sea, Gulf of Martaban, and Tenasserim Coast. Scattered low and medium clouds with embedded isolated moderate to intense convection lay over the remaining parts of the Bay of Bengal.
