The Salient features of the Tropical Weather Outlook based on 0300 UTC of today, of 18th May, 2026, are discussed below:


BAY OF BENGAL:                         

 

Yesterdays’ upper air cyclonic circulation over northeast Tamil Nadu and neighbourhood became less marked at 0300 UTC of today, the 18th May 2026.

 

Scattered to broken low and medium clouds with embedded intense to very intense convection lay over the south Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea, Gulf of Martaban and Tenasserim coast. Scattered low to medium clouds with embedded moderate to intense convection lay over the central Bay of Bengal and isolated weak to moderate convection lay over the north Bay of Bengal.

ARABIAN SEA:

 

Yesterday’s upper air cyclonic circulation over Comorin Area & neighbourhood became less marked at 0300 UTC of today, the 18th May 2026.

 

Scattered to broken low and medium clouds with embedded intense to very intense convection lay over the eastcentral Arabian Sea off south Maharashtra – Goa – Karnataka coasts, south Arabian Sea, Lakshadweep Islands & Maldives area. Scattered, low to medium clouds with embedded isolated weak to moderate convection lay over northwest & westcentral Arabian Sea and the Comorin Area.
