BAY OF BENGAL:

Yesterday’s upper air cyclonic circulation over the southeast adjoining central Bay of Bengal lay over the southwest Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood between 3.1 & 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height at 0300 UTC of today, the 24^th  May 2026.

 

Scattered to broken low and medium clouds with embedded intense to very intense convection over the

northeast Bay of Bengal adjoining Arakan coast, north Andaman Sea, Gulf of Martaban and Tenasserim Coast. Scattered low and medium clouds with embedded moderate to intense convection over central and south Bay of Bengal and south Andaman Sea

Yesterday’s upper air cyclonic circulation over the Southwest Arabian Sea became less marked at 0300 UTC of today, the 24^th May 2026.

 

Scattered to broken low and medium clouds with embedded intense to very intense convection lay over the  eastcentral Arabian Sea off south Maharashtra – Goa- Karnataka coasts, westcentral & south Arabian Sea and also over  Maldives area.  Scattered low and medium clouds with embedded moderate to intense convection over the Lakshadweep Islands Area.

Scattered to broken low and medium clouds with embedded intense to very intense convection lay over central and south Bay of Bengal, Andaman & Nicobar Islands area, Gulf of Martaban, and Tenasserim coast. Scattered low and medium clouds with embedded moderate to intense convection lay over the rest of the Bay of Bengal.
