Since, by Hubble's law, receding velocity is proportional to distance,
eventually galaxies should be moving faster than light. Does general
relativity allow this or Is Hubble's law an approximation?

Wouldnt there be a correction to the law as speeds approach the cosmic limit?

wow...long since i opened this account...
i think that general relativity allows this... relativity talks only
about the speed limit of matter in space..(i think so ...i have not
had a course on this yet..i am just stating what i have read)...but i
don think it says space itself shouldn't travel at speeds faster than
light...
