Hi, I'll need to do atmospheric correction of a WorldView-2 image in the near future, and I was wondering if there's support for this through ARCSI and Py6S? If so, could someone write (or point me to) a code example of how this could be done? Alternatively I'd probably be able to manage with some pointers on how to work it out myself, I have spectral response functions so might be able to work something out. Any help appreciated!

Hi Anders,

WorldView2 is listed as being supported, you should just need to pass in:

—sensor wv2

The source for the WorldView-2 module is here:

Hope this helps,

Dan

Hi Anders,

As Dan said worldview2 is supported but I haven’t had chance to implement all the features of ARCSI for this sensor. The main function which are missing are cloud masking and AOT inversion. Therefore, you need to provide a single value of AOT from the terminal to run imagery from this sensor.

Additionally, all the imagery we have been using from WorldView2 is level 1A data and has been a single image file and not tiled. Therefore, if you’re data is not this level or is a large tiled image then we’d need to make a few alterations to the code which parses the image header. I have only been able to add support for sensors where I have image files to test with and the header information format and attributes is sometimes a little different between the levels.

Let us know how you get on and if you need any help.

Cheers, Pete

Hi Anders,

Would it be possible for you to make the WV2 LV1A image available so when I come to look at WV2 within ARCSI again I can add support and test it.

Best wishes,

Pete

I completely understand, I don't really have time for it either at this point. I've used FLAASH (ENVI) for now. I'll take a look at the WV2 LV1A class later on when I have some time.

Hi Anders,

Unfortunately neither Pete or myself are able to look at this at the moment.

If should be simple to modify the existing WV2 LV1A class for the additional LV2A / OR2A data and we can provide some assistance in doing this via the mailing list (as long as the updates are added back to ARCSI).

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Pete/Dan,

I have two VW2 images with different processing levels, LV2A and OR2A. Unfortunately I can only share an image sample of LV2A with you - the other isn't mine and the owner is very concerned about distribution. I would love for you to implement 6S atm. cor. for VW2 LV2A.

How would you like me to share it with you? I have an ftp site you can get it from if that works for you?

Cheers,
Anders
