Hi both,

Ive got the new environment working for OS X as per the latest instructions but Ive noticed that when running rsgislib commands I have left over .xml/.aux/.ovr files. I didn't used to have these using the previous environment,  so Im guessing they were created and then automatically deleted? Should they be automatically deleted in the latest version too - or is the decision to keep them intentional?

Thanks, Nathan

Hi Nathan,

This is due to GDAL now being built with PAM enabled in conda-forge whereas previously we were building with it disabled.

There is some discussion on this and justifications in the following pull request:

You can override the default behaviour by setting the environmental variable:

GDAL_PAM_ENABLED=NO

This means aux.xml files will no longer be generated.

The .ovr files are overviews - these are only normally created for datasets which don’t support internal overviews (e.g., ENVI)

Thanks,

Dan
