Hi all

I came across something the other day and wondered whether it's important or not....

Trying to be clever and avoid long download times, I only downloaded the bands I thought I required for arcsi from Landsat on AWS i.e bands 1-7 and the metadata file. I didn't think I needed band 8 and as it would take the longest to download, I didn't grab it. However, the error I got running arcsi suggested I did need it - but I wondered if it just needed to see the filename and cross check against the metadata file. I created an empty file and renamed it to look like the band 8 file, and sure enough arcsi ran from start to finish. All the output values look sensible.

So, have I just totally borked my atmospheric correction and subsequent analysis by ignoring band 8, or have I found an insignificant bug that only affects those who don't want to wait for the full download from EarthExplorer?

Cheers

Thanks Alastair,

We’ll spotted, the pan-band is current not used in the processing so your results won’t have been changed. I have commented out the check for the band8 file for now - it is my intension at some point to provide a pan-sharpening option but I don’t know when I’ll get round to this.

We’ll be releasing updated versions of RSGISLib and ARCSI shortly with conda builds against GDAL2 and that change will included that update.

Many thanks,

Pete
