Dear RSGIS users,

I was following the training documentation but got stuck on page 13. I followed all the steps until I was asked to run tuiview where i got an error message (see image attached).

Does anyone know how to fix this? I tried several options, including changing to the development environment, but i still have the same error message...

I tried moving on to the first exercise (Chapter 3), but the same error message occurs on line 5 of the 01_BandMaths.py script:

from rsgislib import imagecalc

I'm guessing this is all related to the same problem, but I cannot seem to fix it.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Kind regards,
Isabel

I've been trying to go around this error, but it seems like I'm having a conflict with the versions of the packages... while I can run tuiview in an environment with Python 3.6, I cannot instal RSGIS in that environment. When I create an environment with Python 3.5, I can install RSGIS, but I cannot use tuiview.

Any ideas on what might be the problem?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi Isabel,

RSGISLib hasn’t been built for Python 3.6 yet so you will need to use under 3.5 at the moment.

TuiView should be working OK with Python 3.5. What OS are you using and what channel did you install TuiView and RSGISLib from?

Thanks,

Dan

Dear Dan,

Thank you very much for your reply. Regarding your question, I am using mac Sierra, and I followed all the steps described in your tutorial, so I think I'm using "conda-forge" channels, but I'm not sure if that's what you mean... sorry I'm not an experience user of the command line.

Cheers,
Isabel

Sorry for the double posting, but I figured that sending you a couple of print-screens might help illustrate the issue:

After not succeeding at following the steps I tried first to create the environment with Python 3.5 and install tuiview, which runs without any problems:
Inline images 1

Then I try to install RSGISLib and although the installation seems to go well, when I run tuiview again I get the following error:
Inline images 2

I hope this helps you understand what the issue might be, and many thanks for your help. I really appreciate it!

Best wishes,
Isabel
