to RSG-India - Internship/Project reviews
Hi all,
I had been an Indian Academy of Sciences summer fellow (IAS-SRF
2009) and did my internship at MBU (Molecular Biophysics Unit) in IISC
under the guidance of Prof. Manju Bansal. I have got a valuable
experience working in an incomparable research atmosphere there. I was
amazed to see people around discussing on scientific issues even at
lunch and teatime.
Manju mam's lab is dedicated towards research work on promoter
predictions and simulation of oligonucleotides. I worked on "Promoter
prediction in Helicobacter pylori" during summer and would be
continuing work on it as a part of my six months project. Manju madam
is a bit strict but at the sametime encourage you and also, patiently
listens to our ideas and analysis of results. The lab members there
are also very friendly and helpful.
I would suggest you to do try for internships there and do apply
for IAS Summer Research Fellowships that provide you with
oppurtunities to work in best Indian institutes.
All the best....
