to RSG-India - Internship/Project reviews
Hi everyone,
I did my summer internship at Agilent Technologies Bangalore. It was
actually a social cum technical project initiated by Agastya
international foundation,Agilent technologies and Bangalore test
house.
During the internship
me and other interns(total 8) collected grain, water, medicinal plants
samples from near by villages and tested them in Bangalore Test house
(BTH).
Water for purity according to ISO standard(presence of E.coli, dirt
etc), food for presence of heavy metals and medicinal plants for their
aminoacid content and utility.
In BTH we dealt with various instruments like
HPLC, atomic mass spectroscopy and learn other techniques like fat
extraction. It was a practical experience where I saw the actual
testing of manufactured tablets, hotel food etc and on what basis they
reject it. But yes it was not related to bioinformatics.
I went there
because of my my interest and really enjoyed my time there specially
the sample collection from villages.
I got there
through an interview in our college. If any one is interested in such
kind of work then contact Agastya Int. Foundation or Bangalore test
house.

Regards
Nitya
