Call for Participation

If you have not already secured your spot at the Tenth International Conference on Bioinformatics (InCoB) being held jointly with the 1st ISCB-Asia Conference, InCoB/ISCB-Asia 2011 (http://www.incob2011.org ), be sure to take advantage of these additional opportunities to submit your research for presentation as a poster or demo. These calls for posters, demos, and travel fellowship support all close in just a couple of days - 01 September 2011 - so do not delay!

Exceptional keynote presenters from around the world are participating in the conference: Dr. Alex Bateman (Sanger Institute), Dr. Pascale Gaudet (Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics), Prof. Minoru Kanehisa (Kyoto University), Prof. Arthur Olson (Scripps Research Institute) and Dr. Jun Wang (BGI Shenzhen). The conference will bring together scientists working in bioinformatics and computational biology, spanning a wide range of underpinning disciplines including computer science, biology, biotechnology, genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, immunomics, mathematics and statistics. The full conference program of accepted papers is expected to be posted to the website within the upcoming weeks.

 We invite you to participate in the following sessions:

Submissions to InCoB/ISCB-Asia 2011 may cover any aspect of bioinformatics, computational biology, chem-bioinformatics, bioinformatics-related cloud computing, biocomputing, health care genomics, personalized medicine, environmental genomics, synthetic genomes and organisms, metagenomics, pharmacogenomics, and immunomics conveying a scientific result.

1. POSTER/DEMO ABSTRACTS

ACCEPTANCE: 01 OCTOBER 2011

We solicit high-quality research abstracts for (A) Poster Sessions and (B) Technology, Tool, Methodology, Resource, Database, Software Demonstration oral presentations.

At least one author of each selected poster/demonstration must register for InCoB/ISCB-Asia 2011. Furthermore, a single registration can cover only oral presentation and one poster presentation or two poster presentations. Posters and demonstrations are intended to convey a scientific result and should not be used to advertise commercial products or services.

2. TRAVEL FELLOWSHIP APPLICATIONS

ACCEPTANCE: 01 OCTOBER 2011

A modest Joint APBioNet-ISCB fellowship fund is available to assist students and post-doctoral trainees in attending the InCoB/ISCB-Asia Joint Conference 2011 for the purposes of presenting their paper/poster. Read the full qualification information at the above URL, and, if you meet the eligibility requirements,  follow the directions for submitting your application without delay.

3. LATE-BREAKING ABSTRACTS - SUBMISSION SITE OPENS 01 OCTOBER 2011

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 15 OCTOBER 2011

ACCEPTANCE: 30 OCTOBER 2011

We invite abstracts on peer-reviewed journal papers that have been accepted for publication or have been will be published on or after January 1, 2011 (please provide us email acceptance or online version). A small number of short oral or poster presentations is available and will be allocated at the discretion of scientific Program Committee. Decision criteria are the impact of the work on the field, the likelihood that the study would be of interest to the InCoB/ISCB-Asia 2011 audience and the relevance of the research to bioinformatics and application to molecular and medical sciences.
