Caps and lids under 40mm in diameter are too small to be captured for recycling, they fall through the holes in the screens at the sorting facilty. If you see this label, putting the lid back on the bottle packaging will help it to be captured and recycled.

You can see this label on plastic wrapping such as bread bags, fruit and veg bags, crisp packets and chocolate wrappers. You can recycle this type of packaging at recycling pointsin selected supermarkets.

Some packaging components need separating before you dispose of them. You may see a label like this on packaging where a sleeve, film or liner can be easily removed from themain packaging item. In this case, the sleeve is removed from a bottle by pulling a perforated strip, the bottle can be recycled but the sleeve goes in the rubbish.

The following symbols can be found on a variety of packaging and explain a range of information: whether or not an item can be recycled, how to dispose of the item, or if it's made of recycled material.

This symbol asks that you recycle the glass container. Please dispose of glass bottles and jars in a bottle bank, remembering to separate colours, or use your glass household recycling collection if you have one.

Never put compostable plastic into the recycling with other plastics; as it is designed to break down it cannot be recycled and contaminates recyclable plastics. Plastics that carry this symbol can be recycled with your garden waste through your local authority.

This indicates that an object is capable of being recycled but not that it will necessarily be accepted in all recycling collection systems or that it has been recycled. Sometimes this symbol is used with a percentage figure in the middle to explain that the packaging contains x% of recycled material.

The Green Dot does not necessarily mean that the packaging is recyclable, will be recycled or has been recycled. It is a symbol used on packaging in some European countries and signifies that the producer has made a financial contribution towards the recovery and recycling of packaging in Europe.

You can use recycle stickers to label your trash cans for better waste separation. This prevents contamination of the waste streams inside your trash and recycling bins. See recommended recycle stickers here.

Hi @bandit12345& @Andavari I also feel as though the icons should be displayed in the Recycle Bin's Context Menu by default so I'll send this feedback directly over to our product team, as a suggestion.

On Windows 8 you can hide the Recycle Bin (and other icons on the desktop) by following Charms bar > Settings > Personalization. But on Server 2012 this returns an empty window with the message "This page is not available in this version of Windows."

Anyway, the ability to show or hide system icons on your desktop is part of the Desktop Experience feature. Either you accept to live withouth them (and with the Recycle Bin permanently stuck there), or you have to enable the whole feature, up to and including access to the Store.

How2Recycle is a standardized labeling system that clearly communicates recycling instructions to the public. It involves a coalition of forward thinking brands who want their packaging to be recycled and are empowering consumers through smart packaging labels.

Answer to second question: Just swipe down from screen-top. You can see notifications, tap on it, it will open that application. This link shows list of major notification icons for Samsung devices.

What makes it an ICON? The difference is in the coating. Traditional polyethylene-coated paper cups are not widely recyclable in the US. ICON is eliminating the polyethylene and using a new water-based barrier coating that is re-pulpable, allowing cups to be recycled in communities that recycle paper products. Just make sure to check locally.

Guidelines below explain what items may be placed in your blue recycling carts. For information about bulky items, hazardous household waste, or other hard to recycle items, see how to dispose of large, seasonal, or unusual items.

Charleston County Environmental Management provides single stream recycling collection to single-family households, multi-family communities, schools, and commercial businesses. With single stream recycling, also known as All-In-One Recycling, you can combine paper products, cardboard, plastic bottles & containers, aluminum and glass all together - there is no sorting required, which makes it easier for you to recycle more.

There is a simple way to hide the Recycle Bin icon in Windows 11. Some users delete files directly, so the icon on desktop becomes useless for them. By default, Windows 11 does not place many icons on the Desktop. The only shortcuts you can find after clean Windows 11 installation are Microsoft Edge and Recycle Bin.

That option hides icons, not deletes them altogether. What is nice about that command is that you can keep your Desktop tidy while retaining the ability to get back all icons and files almost immediately.

And with the vast majority of businesses striving to become more environmentally sustainable in the face of changing consumer demands, the use of recycled and recyclable packaging is likely to continue.

The Green Dot logo does not actually mean that the packaging in question has been recycled, nor that it can be recycled (meaning it can sometimes be found on reusable packaging). It simply signifies that the producer has made a (usually financial) contribution towards the recycling of packaging.

It is however important to point out that putting the symbol on a corrugated container does not indicate that the packaging is manufactured from recycled material, but rather means that the pack could (and should) be recycled.

So my recycle bin was a kickass death star, but then windows decided to download an automatic update and now its gone back to standard boring recycle bin. How do i get it back? I've gone into settings - personalisation - themes - desktop icon settings, but cant find the icon anywhere.
