Iwould like to purchase the software (a perpetual license) without a subscription. I am unable to see the option on the Adobe website. I would be happy with Adobe Acrobat Pro XI but that is no longer available and supported. Does anyone have suggestions?
I have turned to foxit and before they also pull the plug on lifetime license, or jack up the prices, better be in. I had been using for over 12 yrs. I have Acrobat XI pro, but there are issues that keep cropping because adobe keeps nagging and confuse owners resulting in spoiling the configuration. Foxit is bliss. Same pizza, different country, different plate, different layout, same ingredients, but solid if left on default instalation.
The question was certainly understood and answered. However, Adobe are forever rearranging their web site to hide the non-subscription product ever more. If you can find "Acrobat 2020", which Adobe don't want you to do, then that's what you need.
I had this same problem and DID finally find the flat out "buy it" instead of subscription. ($445!) Just use the search bar to type in Adobe Pro 2020, and it's one of the two options that comes up. For that amount of money, I'm going to look into a few other third party products, as all I REALLY need is just the Form editor.
Look at Microsoft. When they lowered the price of office, almost everyone preferred the original product. Their profit increased 10-fold. If you just sell your product at a reasonable price, everyone will prefer to get a genuine product.
I just bought two licenses today from Lenovo for Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020 for $249 each. It's completely legit. They are a reseller for their computers. It's fully downloadable and they send you the serial number.
Wow, you're right! I just logged into Lenovo and went to my order history. I had ordered twice for a total of three licenses -- 2 downloads on 5/7 and another download on 5/20. Now the product is gone. I wonder if Adobe stopped them from selling after seeing on this site or others like it? Or maybe Lenovo ran out of 2020 single licenses to sell?
I just installed this on a W10 machine--UG from 2017 Pro. It reaked havoc on my Adobe products. Requires login even though perpetual and reset license information on all. I have been using Adobe products since they first came out. 2017 is my last version of this product. I am going to try a product designed for individuals not interested in subscriptions. Terrible support.
Go to the Adobe Products Page ( ) and sort the products by name by clicking the "A-Z" button on the right.
At the top of the list, you'll now see Acrobat Pro 2020. Click on the Buy button next to it. If you have a prior qualifying version change the "Type" drop-down to "License Upgrade". Otherwise, leave it as "Full License".
Then select the other options (OS, Language, etc.) and complete the purchase. You'll get a full license, not a time-based subscription.
There is a good chance that the serial number/perpetual license is not available in your country/geolocation. So, you may have to buy the license from Adobe's authorized reseller. You can find them in your location using this link:
Greetings! This solution is not actually a solution, because all of the steps described above lead ONLY to monthly subscription options. The one-time purchase options described above cannot be reached by following the steps described above.
You need to find the exact name of the version you have a license for. What used to be called Acrobat DC is now called Acrobat 2015, or 2017 or 2019, etc. The name "DC" is now used only for the subscription-based version.
You can get Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020 (standalone price - not a subscription) for $259 on Lenovo's website. I have ordered three for employees and they work fabulously. Unfortunately, we need Pro and its capabilities in our business. With that said, we have not found any pdf software that compares to what Adobe Acrobat Pro can do. Believe me, we have looked and bought with only great disappointment in the end. IMO, competitors don't compare to the OG at least not in real world applications.
As of today, on Lenovo website you can get the Adobe Acrobat 2020 for $249 but you have to buy at least one computer from Lenovo to get Adobe. The salesman said that's the only way Lenovo can sell Adobe products.
$449??!! I've been using an Education Edition of Acrobat 8 for years. Has Adobe lost their minds?? First I can no longer activate my copy after I changed computers and now you want $449? Way to screw your customers.
Actually, there are MANY corporations, who are very small, like me, who want to continue using their product, after 20+ years and should be able to continue using what I paid for and what still satisfies what I need (It's not appropriate to be FORCED into paying a subscription for software I already own and does the job!)
Hi, first time user here. I have spent hours trying to figure this out. I'm trying to add a text box and I go to Edit PDF but can only write text, not enclose it in a box. I am trying to find out how to do that for my client's receipts. He has the option to do it but doesn't remember how as it was a long time ago. I also have an Adobe Acrobat Standard subscription and I've added Adobe as an app in Dropbox. The first arrow is a photo of a PDF my client was able to use a text box on and the 2nd arrow is the only option I can seem to find. The second image below shows that Dropbox literally says you can add a "text box to a PDF stored in your Dropbox" but I can't find out how to do it.
Because thats how the comments system works I'm afraid. The comments are not a part of the file itself but rather a 'conversation' type screen at the side of it. You have selected an area you wish to comment on, you then say what the comment is and it lists at that side. People can then move around the file and see those comments at the side at the points people have drawn around.

Yes, thank you. I think I figured out that I have to create the textbox in Adobe and then upload it to Dropbox. I am hoping others in my Adobe Teams will be able to edit any text I have created in that textbox when uploaded to Dropbox.
When I go to comment on a specific part of a file and drag the box around the area of the file I want to comment on, the rest of my PDF document is greyed out and my comment doesn't appear in the box, only in the right-side pane. Why is it doing this?

We're big fans of Adobe Acrobat - it's our top choice in PDF apps for any power-user, thanks to an easy to use interface, and a packed toolkit letting you create, edit, share, sign, and fill files. However, it's not the right choice for everyone. From avoiding Adobe's Creative Cloud subscriptions to finding a simpler alternative to Acrobat for casual use, there are plenty of options out there - and we rounded up the very best.
As part of our review process, we compared each app's interface, experience, and tools to Acrobat's own. During each test, we look at the entire workflow, from document creation to essential extras form-filling, optical character recognition, and eSignatures. You'll find all pricing details and value for money, and we've included here a range of subscription, perpetual license, and free Acrobat alternatives.
When we tried out the product, we found it featured an impressive toolkit that compares favorably with Adobe Acrobat. The interface and experience make using the software incredibly simple and easy - a factor the sometimes overwhelming Acrobat struggles to boast.
Other tools to let you make changes to existing PDF documents, and even create one from scratch. You have a lot of tools at your disposal, including various ways to make annotations, leaving instructions for colleagues to follow.
Tools for PDF creation, compressing, merging, and converting are all present and results are grand. Extras like OCR and eSign are well-implemented. The interface is clean and fresh and emphasizes productivity - you can quickly find what you need and what to do.
