Senior Rust Developer Scope of Work: Vendor resource will serve as a technical lead and support key modernization initiatives across our Edge applications: Rust Technical Leadership - Java to Rust Migration: Lead the design and execution of Java-to-Rust conversion for Edge applications, including: Secure Connect Gateway Policy Manager Data Center back-end services.
Rust Technical Leadership - C/C++ to Rust Migration: Lead the design and execution of C/C++-to-Rust conversion for Edge applications, including: SSC (Secure Service Credentials) Capability Building / Knowledge Transfer. Train and mentor Dell senior SMEs on advanced Rust concepts and best practices; Enable internal SMEs to assume the Rust Technical Lead role by the end of the engagement

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Rust. Build highly scalable, low-latency, and resilient services for cloud and distributed environments.
• Should have strong technical hands-on coding skills. Should be familiar with AI technologies, including Python and auto-coding tools. Develop microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven applications.
• Implement concurrent and asynchronous solutions using Rust best practices.
• Optimize application performance, memory efficiency, and system reliability.
• Collaborate with architects and product teams to define technical solutions and system designs.
• Integrate applications with cloud platforms, databases, messaging systems, and enterprise platforms.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture reviews, and sprint planning activities.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Ensure security, observability, scalability, and compliance requirements are met.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering best practices.
