We're pleased to announce that Revolution R Open 8.0.3 is now available for download for Windows, Mac, Ubuntu, RedHat/CentOS and OpenSUSE. You can download it from:

This version updates the R engine to 3.1.3, adds support for Ubuntu 15.04, and updates the "checkpoint" package. You can find more details about the release in the Revolutions blog post:

Note that on Windows/Linux, to enable multi-threading you need to download and install the separate MKL from the download page. If you installed RRO 8.0.2 for Windows, be sure to follow the installation instructions carefully (you will need to uninstall MKL first).

Enjoy!

Couple of quick questions.

  1. First, was the MKL stuff shipped as a part of the rpm for 8.0.1?
  2. Will users have to redownload the MKL library upon each new point or subpoint release of RRO in the future? That's okay just need to make sure it's something I'm aware of.
  3. Related as I've been meaning to do this, if I'm just installing from the rpm do I need to do anything special to overwrite my existing install of RRO 8.0.1 to the new version?

Hi Jonathan,

1.   No - we did not have a MKL installer for RRO for 8.0.1 - you will need to upgrade to version 8.,0.3.
2).  Yes. you will need to uninstall and reinstall the MKL component for each new release of RRO. You can find complete install and uninstall instructions for the MKL installer here:

3).  You should uninstall your previous version of RRO(8.0.1) and then install the new version of Revolution R Open using the instructions for the version of Linux you are running.

Can you please explain why the size of RevoMath 8.0.2 was 115,617,792 bytes and of 8.0.3 it’s just 13,881,344?

What was in that 100 MB removed?

Hi,

I tried installing RRO 8.0.3 but it doesn't install properly. I just posted about the problem, then saw this...so I though I would post here too.

Here are my results when I try to ./install.sh
