Hi,

When i submit a .rs seq to the farm i get this error:

R425| License error: No license found (-1)

R426| License error: (RLM) No license for product (-1)

R427| 14ms

R428| Rendering aborted due to license check failure ('Abort Rendering on License Failure' is ON)

R429| Shutdown Rendering Sub-Systems...

We have 2 computers with node locked licenses, one of them work, the other one does not.

It works if we render with maya+redshift, but not rs stand alone.

Also, is there a way to render redshift with a watermark? to remove abort on lic fail?

Hi,

R428| Rendering aborted due to license check failure ('Abort Rendering on License Failure' is ON)
...
is there a way to render redshift with a watermark? to remove abort on lic fail?

Do you get this message from the redshift or maya job? AFAIK this is an abort line from Maya, you will find the Abort Rendering on License Failure option in the System tab of the Maya/Redshift render settings, Error Handling group. Please make sure that checkbox is disabled and use the redshift_wmark renderer in rrSubmitter when you submit the maya-redshift job

We have 2 computers with node locked licenses, one of them work, the other one does not.

It works if we render with maya+redshift, but not rs stand alone.

please, look for the variable REDSHIFT_LICENSEPATH in the log, does it point to the correct directory? Does the directory contain the license file?

If you would like more help with your config, the debug info of your .rs job would help. Please make sure the job contains logs from both the successful and the failing machine

Please select the job in rrControl.
Then execute "Export debug info - selected job(s)" via the menu "Debug".
Please upload the zipped information www.RoyalRender.de/upload_r.php

Kind regards,
Paolo

From Redshift stand alone job.
Is there a rs watermark preset for rs stand alone? i cant find it.

Should that dir have a lic file? The 2 rendernodes have nodeloced licenses.
I have uploaded a debug file.

It works now,

I put the lic info from the computers in this file:
...\render_apps\renderer_exe\redshift\win_x64\Redshift_2.6.38\redshift-core.lic

Is that the right way?

Hi

>Is there a rs watermark preset for rs stand alone? i cant find it.

You can change the renderer in the rrSubmitter, lower left to Redshift_WMark.

>The 2 rendernodes have nodeloced licenses.

If you do not use the Environment variable for the license path:

Where have you installed the license?

What is the name of the license file(s)?

If it works for both of your machines, then you can keep it that way.

This is the default location for floating lic files as well.

Hello!

I have a similar issue rendering Redshift Satndalone.
I edited the file /render_apps/_setenv/all/redshift__inhouse.rrEnv and after some trial and error some clients were able to render a single frame of a test scene file.
Although the fram was rendered over and over again by different clients.
The setting that finally worked on some clients was to set redshift_LICENSE  =  C:\ProgramData\Redshift\ there.
But in the logs there still is the wrong license path:
>set "redshift_LICENSE=C:\ProgramData\Redshift\"
* redshift.rrEnv version v8.2.20
>set "RR_REDSHIFT_BASE_LOCAL=C:\RR_localdata\renderer_exe\redshift\win_x64\Redshift-2.6.41"
* RedShift cache path is set to C:\RR_localdata\renderer_exe\redshift\win_x64\Redshift-2.6.41
>set "REDSHIFT_COREDATAPATH=C:\RR_localdata\renderer_exe\redshift\win_x64\Redshift-2.6.41"
>set "REDSHIFT_LICENSEPATH=C:\RR_localdata\renderer_exe\redshift\win_x64\Redshift-2.6.41"
and
No license file found in C:\RR_localdata\renderer_exe\redshift\win_x64\Redshift-2.6.41

How do I manage to point it to the license?

Have a nice day!

There are thwo license files:
redshift-core.lic
and
redshift-core2.lic

Please copy the attached file into these two folders:

\render_apps\_setenv\all\

\render_apps\_setenv\all\rr_original

I will copy your node-locked licenses into the RR folder.

redshift.rrEnv

Please try to submit this file:
www.RoyalRender.de/download/support/box_redshift_singlefile.zip

It renders one frame only.
If it works on your farm, please check for differences to your scene files.

Hello Holger,

we got this issue solved by by disabling "Check for frames".
Thank you.

Have a nice day!

Sadly we are not able to edit the file name in the Submitter, as it's greyed out.

Have a nice day!

Please see the new thread about the single Redshift frame render.

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/rrknights/wZsPMZXyWY0/AUd7CSyuBAAJ

To be able to reproduce it, we need to know what the difference is to our test scenes.

It can't export .rs files due to the Apprentice License scene file.

Hello Holger,

I rebuilt your test scene for a .hip file.
I am able to successfully render when doing the following:

- remove the $OS variables in the output paths.
- rename the redshift executable in /render_apps/renderer_exe/houdini/win_x6/ to "Redshift_" without version number.
- submit and render both, the .rs export job and the .exr render job.

If I export the .rs sequence from Houdini myself, then submit the .hip file and only select the .exr sequence render task, the renderer all crash.

Have a nice day!
Achim

Hi

>- remove the $OS variables in the output paths.

This is strange as it works on our test farms since some time.

Do you know why you have to remove it?

Is the rrSubmitter not able to resolve the variable $OS?

>- rename the redshift executable in /render_apps/renderer_exe/houdini/win_x6/ to "Redshift_" without version number.

Do you use the rrSubmit plugin in Houdini? Which version of the plugin?

(The rrSubmit plugin sends the Redshift version that is currently loaded in Houdini to the rrSubmitter)

>and only select the .exr sequence render task, the renderer all crash.

Can you export a debug info via rrControl and upload it to www.RoyalRender.de/upload_r.php.

I used rrSubmitter directly.
Using the Houdini submitter plugin everything renders flawless. Even if I export the .rs sequence directly in Houdini beforehand.
But I didn't check if the $OS variable is unknown this way, yet.

Thanks and have a nice day!
