Houdini Vex expression in path

Hello,

i was wondering if there was a way to use expressions in the ROP paths that i send in RR.

Like : $JOB/render/$HIPNAME/`strreplace($HIPNAME,"test_","")`.$F4.jpg

It seams that the submiter does not translate the expression at all.

Do you have a solution for that please?

I use RR 8.2.29 with Houdini 18.5

Hi

The current submitter is not able to evaluate scripts.

I know that there have been artists who used some kind of scripted extra parameter to calculate and set the output path one you select the ROP. But I do not habe more information about how they did it.

I will look into this solution.

Otherwise, is there a way to modify the submitter script to it recognize expressions. In such case where do i find this script file please?

Hi

RR8 does not have a script to read the scene, it uses a C++ plugin for the rrSubmitter.

A new submission script will be available in a few months.
