Hi,

Sorry for asking in here again

I would like to ask, is it possible to run RR for redshift in 2 different version?

this is a little bit tricky because, new redshift system does not allow downgrade the version

we have new computer with new redshift version, but our project does not working with the new version, so we will use our other computer with an older version

but if we want to use the new computer with the new redshift, would it be possible to set another new env settings or other settings, so we can use it for other project, while we also using our old version in other computer

Thank you, and much appreciated!

Hi

Which render application do you use with Redshift?

Hi,

We are using Katana 4.v01

Hi

Then it should already be working.

Please select a Katana job in rrControl.

Open tab Job Info.

The 4th(?) line should show the versions used like „Katana 4, Redshift v3.5“

Then open the tab Job Log.

Select one of the render log files and search for

„Redshift for Katana source path is„

The path should contain the Redshift version.

If you submit a job from Katana with a different Redshift version loaded, then the path should change.

Hi,

I just check that the job on the new computer is following this current env

S  1| * ------ _global__inhouse.rrEnv ------
S  2| >set "PATH=R:\render_apps\renderer_exe\katana\win_x64\redshift-3.0.34__katana4\bin"
S  3| >set "KATANA_RESOURCES=R:\render_apps\renderer_exe\katana\win_x64\redshift-3.0.34__katana4\Plugins\Katana\4.0v1;
S  4| >set "RR_DELIGHT_NETWORK=0"
S  5| >set "RR_ARNOLD_NETWORK=1"
S  6| >set "ARNOLD_PLUGIN_PATH="
S  7| >set "RR_VRAY_NETWORK=1"
S  8| >set "RR_REDSHIFT_BASE_LOCAL=R:\render_apps\renderer_exe\katana\win_x64\redshift-3.0.34__katana4"
S  9| >set "RR_REDSHIFT4K_BASE_LOCAL=R:\render_apps\renderer_exe\katana\win_x64\redshift-3.0.34__katana4\Plugins\Katana\4.0v1"
S 11| >set "PATH=R:\render_apps\renderer_exe\katana\win_x64\redshift-3.0.34__katana4\bin;

I just put a new redshift version in the shared executable

from there is it possible for me to create a new env?, so when I submit the job it follows the new redshift version and the env that I just create?

and also, in the RRConfig, in the tab per client config, I should set render license group to renderfarm, is that correct?

Hi

>from there is it possible for me to create a new env?, so when I submit the job it follows the new redshift version and the env that I just create?

No need to create a new env.

RR takes the Redshift version that you have loaded in Katana and set it into the path

R:\render_apps\renderer_exe\katana\win_x64\redshift-3.0.34__katana4"

If you want to use a different Redshift version, then you have to load a different Redshift version in Katana.

In your case you had loaded Redshift 3.0.34 in your Katana app.

This is not required if you do not have different license pools.

E.g. some licenses for your workstations that have installed Royal Render,

different licenes for the pure render machines with Royal Render, …

Most companies don‘t require this.
