Houdini 18.5.351 with arnold htoA

hello,

i trying to make htoA work on the farm but with no success.

I think i managed to install htoA in RR correctly (here : \\server1\ROYALRENDER\render_apps\renderer_exe\houdini\win_x64\htoa6.1.0.0__houdini18.5.351) but it sill does not work.

I think the blocking error is : Could not find ai.dll

I joined two logs, one trying to render a .ass sequence and another trying to render images.

Can you please help?

Hi

If the HtoA folder was correctly copied, then the ai.dll should be located here:

\\itb-server1\ROYALRENDER\render_apps\renderer_exe\houdini\win_x64\htoa6.1.0.0__houdini18.5.351\scripts\bin\ai.dll

The local PATH environment variable it set to the location of the ai.dll file, so it should be working.

The log file states:

PATH =…;C:\RR_localdata\renderer_exe\houdini\win_x64\htoa6.1.0.0__houdini18.5.351\scripts\bin;…

Is the rrClient running on an artist workstation which is used for Houdini with HtoA as well?

To verify that HtoA works at all on that OS.

If not, please submit the job to your workstation that you use to setup the Houdini+Arnold scenes.

Does it work on your workstation with RR?

Ok thank you, indeed it worked on my worstation.

I found where the issue came from here : https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/display/A5AFHUG/HtoA+5.5.0.0

I had to install this on each machine : \\SERVER\htoa\htoa-5.5.0.0_r5b05c8c_houdini-18.5.351\htoa-5.5.0.0_r5b05c8c_houdini-18.5.351\redist\VC_redist.x64.exe

Ok, so the error message was wrong.

Ai.dll was found, but unable to be loaded.
