ECRR's,
Registration for the ECRR Workshop on Oct. 5 is now OPEN and includes
classes on the following topics:
Accessing raptor cliff and tree nests (taught at the UMD climbing gym)
Harnessing raptors with radio telemetry units
Marking raptors with auxiliary tags
Tissue sampling and necropsy of raptors
Raptor trapping and handling
Raptor study skin preparation.
If you are interested in learning from some of the leading experts in
RRF in a hands-on, small group environment, register early at
http://www.raptorresearchfoundation.org/conferences/current-conference/registration.
(Most classes are limited to 10-16 participants and we are already
getting registrations.)
These classes will emphasize skill-building and will focus on
interactive learning; many of them will use fresh raptor carcasses for
students to practice tagging, sampling, handling, harnessing,
skinning, etc.
Please note, classes are open only to current RRF members who are
either students or have recently completed their schooling (within the
last 5 or so years). If you are not an RRF member, you can still
enroll by first joining RRF. And please feel free to forward this
information to your fellow students, friends, and other ECRR's.
Hope all is well with all of you.
Cheers,
Travis
